What's the point of the store room hab on ships?

I assumed it would have some containers I could put items into. And it does have containers... I just can't interact with them.

Is it bugged or is that room only there for looks?

Can't remember exactly, because i only looked at it for a short while, but i think, it has a Storage-Management-Terminal, so you can use it as a second storage-Access close to your Airlock, once you have a bigger ship.

Inside the cockpit is a storage terminal, one for the full storage and one for the captain.

I assume it will be added at some point. In the meantime my dream home is my workshop.

Currently useless. I've had no luck adding a work bench to my ship despite working my way though most of the possible storage and engineering modules.

I assume it will be added at some point. In the meantime my dream home is my workshop.

There is a workshop hab which gives you all of the work benches.

Its mainly to add extra connection points on your ship. Design purposes really.
But yeah it wouldn't have been amiss to add minimal cargo capacity for the hab.

That's just a hab. Has nothing to do with the real storage, you can walk in it and use it as small part of your ship.

Many hab modules have multiple options, not just the ones displayed. On PC you use the left / right arrows I think to scroll through the various options. To get the workshop, pick "workshop" or "armory" I believe. I had the same frustration until I figured it out; you should get access to the workshop module pretty much from beginning of game.

I will keep looking. looks like the guide I read is out of date. It said that engineering habs were supposed to have them

Yep, would make sense if there would be either small containers or if it would add a small extra to the overall storage.

I was hoping I could use it to store some items outside the ship's inventory for better organization but it seems that is not possible.

I could do it with the armory section but that is too big for my current build.

Edit: I just looked at what every hab does.... Several other habs have storage in them but the store room is listed as having no use.... That has to be a bug or unfinished....

Yeah. I managed to add a workshop to my Achilles and cargo is now 925 so it's doing most things I want.
