Mining chlorosilanes

How do you mine chlorosilanes? I shoot the thingy at them but they don't break. Same with those little geyser like mounds that have chlorine. Or rock piles.

Is it a big lumpy geyser? You need to set up an outpost and build a pump + liquid storage container for those.

Did you walk up to the rock and press "E" (or whatever button you've set USE to).
Took me a day before I learned you could actually loot some rocks without using your mining tool ^^

Out of the scanner you can walk up and hit E on them to harvest.

You only need outpost and pumps to get at the underground deposits.

Nope, only if you want to get your own resources instead of buying them at a trader.

If you want materials to upgrade you do that or buy them. Also you START the game as a miner sigh.

All good points. Great community for this game. I would underscore, though, that must not be in scanner mode when press E while standing next to the resource, as Toblm noted above.

I read on any number of pages, just press E. The thing is, one likely comes across the chlorosilanes while using the scanner -- but pressing E while in scanner mode is ineffective. Exit scanner mode, get intimate with the resource until given the prompt, and then enter scanner mode again after harvesting.

Seems like an extra step in there somewhere, because a lot of button pushing.
