Thats why we dont have ground vehicles
Pete Hines: "We doesnt add vehicles because our engine can't handle, we doesnt add vehicles because using ground vehicles outside from earth doesnt match with the reality. We want it realistic"

Bethesda: Add jetpacks to explore, give superpowers to the player, add drugs to walk 40 miles per hour.

Reality: Use Marsrovers since 26 years and use the first Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV) 52 years before.

"Starfield! Since 25 years in the making" :VBOY:

Even Skyrim had horses. Nobody saying engine can't handle mounts and that's all a vehicle really is anyway.
Um...
See: Skyrim Cart travel. Awkward at best, hilarious physics (because of a pebble in the road) at worst.

Well that was solved in Fallout 4 by modders (of course) with their vehicle mods.

And...I've noticed that jetpacks - Sorry, "Booster packs" often leave you to suffer from sprains and dislocated limbs. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ design doesn't account for gravity or fall distances created with boosts.
I ended up turning gravity off because of that stupid jetpack trying to break my bones all the time.

I've found that using it in controlled bursts mitigated bad things happening to my characters skeletal structure.

Yeah tried being patient, but I want to get places fast not gently anything.

The jetpack system simply should've been made in a way that didn't try to break our bones.

you know i always used to think ppl were really whining about the engine and how Bethesda needed to move on. However starfield makes it abundantly clear this engine is crap.

the game could support ground vehicles but it would confuse people...
heck people are outright making stuff up to complain about when there are actual valid things there they could point out instead. also the devs know they cant make the perfect game for everyone so they purposely leave everything in an open state for easier modder access.

the worlds are an illusion. each "map" is basically a medium sized version of the maps from Skyrim and Fallout, but the "planets" allow you to generate a near limitless number of them... if the devs didn't use procedural generation in some of those maps we probably could have roads and vehicles but they probably ran into some issues and just figured the variations with procedural content was a better direction.

oh and one of those things people are actively making up to complain about is for example: a Youtuber who made a review where he made the claim that New Atlantis wasn't a full city but just a collection of fast travel points... guy totally knows he was lying about that but he wanted the rage clicks for his channel. there ARE plenty of real things to complain about though...

No it's just their handling of their own engine that's crap, modders magically figure these things out before they release their content.

Do you mean the (hilariously broken physics) Motorcycle mod?

im waiting 6months before i look into the mods for Starfield... when Skyrim launched and i discovered the mods for it... i couldnt play it ever again without mods but mod authors come and go and having to start over every time the game had a hiccup of an update was rough.

i cant wait till someone mods in a proper NASA Moon Buggy

Can't wait for it to be dog just like the real life one, and people go back to simply walking / jetpacking after realizing that idea is dumb and has no place in a game w/ instanced levels lol

A vehicle that travels at the player's max run speed would be fine with me. It doesn't have to be a sports car or anything.

look i know you just want to flame people because you discovered the internet is a place where you can get away with being outrageously hostile to people... but think about it. if the NASA Moon Buggy was a thing... you COULD also have your TESLA Cyber Truck or your preferred Harley Davidson or a bicycle if that's what you are into. no need to be hostile just for the sake of hostility. Freedom should make you happy not hostile lol.

Yes! Or a jetpack that didn't require me to bunny hop/ break my ankles every time I use it.
