You know, I keep hearing the people on Mars bringing it up all the time, but I don't think I noticed anybody with red eyes. This just flavor text or am I missing something?

Yeah, the Red Devils from the UC Vanguard questline and the ones you can find in the lower level in Cydonia in the bar are the ones with the weird eyes. They are supposed to be the remnants of old war I think, not just "Mars dust". Most likely something to do with the war between UC and Freestar where Red Devils were one of the top military same as First Cavalry of the Freestar Collective. Both are now just remnants of war.

Yes; something in the Martian dust changes your eyes red over a long period of time and you can see NPCs with red eyes, talk to NPCs eagerly waiting until thier eyes change, as well as give yourself red eyes.

What actually causes the change isn't explained to my knowledge.

The girl from Red Devils quest explains, their eyes get a permanent red tint from dust when they spend long enough time in the mines. Thats why they call them Red Devils I just wonder if it is seriously possible in real world to get that since this is kinda realistic'ish game ;p I dont know anyone who worked in mars mines to ask tho ;p

Well if your okay with the very real possibility of going blind you can inject dye to change the color of your eyes today.

However realistically no ... Martian Dust wouldn't do that and if it did you'd also go blind.

You can see it on Hadrian and the other Red devils. Its like a red outer ring with yellow inner color. Not pure red.

honestly i took it as a Dune reference, wherein spending time on the planet around all the spice turns your eyes blue.

you're asking if it's real, in real life, would the elements in the local martian atmosphere, if living in a habitable area, change all pigment to your sclera? it would not work in that way. the elements (or whatever) would need to make some physiological change in your circulatory or endocrine system. that's to say, whatever did that to your eyes would also likely be killing you, and not slowly. think jaundice.

Martian dust eh! I thought it was a by product of supporting Manchester United.
