and ofc 90% of modern scifi is stolen from things like Dune, and 90% of modern fantasy is stolen from Lord of the Rings.
I don't get why people just don't play games for what they are instead of making up crap in their own heads and expecting that game to be what they imagined. Just play the game, if you don't like it then stop playing. Maybe express this to their support or forums so they can actually see your feedback. Doubt they even look here.

With clunky shooter mechanics to boot... The beginning of Morrowind was much shorter, but also much more plausible. I believe a classic bethesda 'you've escaped space prison with an artifact' would have been better....
I've just arrived at the constellation base and I'm getting 'poor man's no man's sky' vibes...
