Mantis sucks.

You cant change my mind. I've had a better ship than this since they "taught" you how to disable ships in space. I've never even upgraded this ship (Falcata) because as a baseline A CLASS ship its better than anything I can buy,

The Armor is Awesome sadly I didn't like the look of it so I don't use it.

Think it's just a fast, adventurous way to get slightly better ship than the starter.

I B-lined for C class ships and ended up taking lvl 75 hyena at like lvl 25. It's been a fantastic flagship.

basically its a nice ship to use until you get the frontier one, or save up to make your own

I dislike the look of the Mantis Armor as well. Though I didn't check this out until I was already level 35... So my Class B ship is way better than the ship.

Razorleaf is shielded and has rare hubs on it. Plus you can get it very early in game if your character can handle the quests.

But the actual Mantis suit, jetpack and helmet are kinda meh for legendary equipment. Plus the overpowering white aesthetic is atrocious! Would look so much better in that metallic, emerald green. The ship as well.

It really does make you wonder who designed and okayed the sterile apron + triangle helmet. I only used the helmet for a little while because of the bonuses, never touched the dumb smock.

I like it when level 30 pirates fly away from you going all blue.. then you can pick them off one at a time... yeh Mantis sucks.. the blood of pirates.

Took my Mantis ship to kryx and nuked the crimson fleet.

As for how it looks.. couldn't care less. What it gives you is more important.

Yeah they're weird about that. I also attacked the Key, killed all the rats.

Then I joined them- worst decision ever. The quests are some Disney crap and now pirates are naturally blue. I still kill them all, but they barely ever fight back. They don't even care that I have a 650k bounty with the Crimson Fleet- and it's actually inconvenient to push that number up any farther because I have to intentionally leave witnesses :/

I ditched the Mantis Armor the moment I got that awesome Vanguard Armor set.

Also! THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT!
I've played this game for over 100 hours before I got the Mantis, I have not had one issue with FPS being below 45 (Not super but not horrible) until i took the Mantis, Now Im basically stuck at 8 FPS. And yes its the ship, Verified by loading multiple saves to check
My saves before that have no issue, my save directly after taking the mantis are all locked at 8 Fps now.
So its either an issue with the size of my save, or its the ship itself.

I don't know what was going through the mind of whoever designed it and approved it. It looks like a 1950's villain costume with a skirt. Because of that, I figured out how to take off armor in the cities.

I mean whoever thought that a helmet that looks like you have a bra on your head would be a cool look. Real praying mantis's do not look that terrible.

Mantis has "hidden" perk makes spacers run away-- can be fun/useful though so far only one line of dialogue for that so it gets a little stale after second time

Would've been cool if they ditched the apron and modified the rest of the armor and color scheme to more resemble an insectoid-themed superhero suit, imo; bring some Guyver, Kamen Rider, Blue Beetle, and Ant-Man influences to the armor design. I mean, the whole quest took you through a glorified Batcave. Might as well go the full way, you know?

Edit: I mean, Fallout had goofy superhero suits, why not Starfield? The Mantis suit just feels like a missed opportunity.

Sounds like a classic case of Bethesda save game corruption or some other form of weirdness got baked into the save.

I had an issue in unmodded Skyrim SE recently(always do a vanilla run after not playing for a long time) where when I fast traveled the game would crash after a moment, even after doing the wait for a week, clearing cells and other trouble shooting methods it happened and had zero consistency to the crashes. loaded a save earlier and it didn't have the issues.
