It can be annoying that the E key is used for various purposes when piloting your ship is the same key that you long-press to exit the pilot's seat. I've done it a few times, its usually nothing more than an annoyance, but it can be annoying when it happens.

Have you looked at changing your key bindings?

In use, the whole setup on the PC just feels like it is (in my view) compromised so it works on console controllers.

Eh, I wouldn't go that far. Most of the controls are fine, but it absolutely has a learning curve that can be overwhelming at first. Once you get the hang of it though, its a breeze. I was a little worried in the first dozen or so hours of the game, but once I got the hang of it, its actually a lot better than I expected.

I actually prefer the controller with this game. It's very smooth and accessible with it. And it just feels right with piloting the ship. If I have to grab the keyboard I can. It hot swaps instantly.
