Choose a faction (bad title)
Yes the title is bad but bear with me. Will there be a point in the game were you have to choose a faction like in Fallout Nev Vegas/4 or is more like Skyrim were you can join every faction without in interfering with others?

I think I'm in 3 factions right now? There are some weird conflicts like taking a mission to fight crimson fleet but also being allied with crimson fleet so they don't aggro. Stuff like that, but yeah looks like you can join em all just about.

You can join them all however there is a point at the end of one questline where you have to decide between two factions, I'm being vague to avoid spoilers. Other than that you can join every faction in one playthrough.

It´s the elder scrolls approach, you mainly do quests lines for them.
There is one point where you choose between two, but it hardly matters.

I've only played thru 3 factions but everything I read said that you can play all factions without repercussion.

Personally, I'm not gonna play the pirates or ryujin till my ng+ because from a rp standpoint it makes no sense to me to try to save the universe on one hand and rape and pillage 6 hours later.

So kinda like in Fallout New Vegas then? Thanks for the info.

It's Skyrim style. You can be the Guild Leader of everyone.

Only one you have to make a choice on is the Crimson Fleet vs. Sysdef Questline.

I'm not far enough to know for sure, but from what I've read so far I don't believe so. I'm a bit torn on the game taking this approach compared to prior Bethesda games.

On the plus side, its nice to wade through the game for the first time and not be overly concerned about making a decision that limits the scope of what I can do in the game, or that I'll unwittingly cross a faction.

On the other hand it does take away a bit from character development and replay value when everything can get lumped together.

So far I haven't minded too much, although from a story-telling standpoint it does feel off sometimes working for all these different factions and agencies all at the same time.

My comment is spoilerish so I’ll tag it appropriately. The main problem with the main story is that you really have no choice where Constellation is concerned, and at no point do you have the option even to walk away from them, let alone betray them. In FO4, at least, every faction can be betrayed and even destroyed, in ways that matter to the story outcome. But nothing like that happens here.

Spoiler tags are your (and others) friend.
