Disabling ships not working - still destroying.
Even with the skill to target specific subsystems of enemy ships i find myself
constantly blowing ships up instead of targeting engines and crippeling them.
I feel this combat-system is insanely unpolished and broken because when i
manually aim at the engines to disable the ships, my shots lands much more
frequvent then using the Subsystem targeting.

Just a few minutes ago i ran up against a pirate, flew up close enough to target
the engines and my guns continued to hit the target ANYWHERE but the engines
and continued to blow the ship apart.

So either i'm going about this the wrong way or this ingame system is really broken.

There is EM weapon type shooting through shield and hull, disabling modules one by one - grv, shld, eng then you can board the ship.

Well yeah it always does hull damage too

If you want to just board ships throw on some electromagenetic beams that disable the ship while doing 0 hull damage

Works fine for me - I get around 75% success.

I've found hitting the engines with the energy weapons not the ballistics works better as misses wont tear the remaining hull apart.

The earlier the engines are offline - the more "intact" the ship is - but also the more active crew so I start about 50% of hull - the crew being killed off by the hull breaches

Its not always successful but the number of captures outweighs the number of kills.
