[BUG] - 'All That Money Can Buy' quest

After talking/fighting with Slayton, the quest tells you to go to your ship. When I go to my ship, I go to the cockpit and sit. Afterwards, it starts a dialogue session with Walter (I can start this conversation without sitting in my ship if I find Walter). After the conversation, the quest then tells you to take off from Neon. When I take off from Neon, I can't; control my ship, pull up maps, bring up missions, or shoot. After attempting to 'fast travel' with the current quest objective, I am met with the same issue.


I was able to fix resolve this issue by doing the following:

1. Open Console Commands
2. Run 'DumpInputEnableLayers'
3. Look for Disabled Layers and for Fast Travel Disabled line.
4. Type 'ResetInputEnableLayer #' (for me it was ResetInputEnableLayer 4)
5. Fast travel to any system, I did Jemison.
6. Go back to Neon, board your ship, and then take off.

this worked for me. I couldnt take off, ship had no option to depart when in cockpit number 4 was successful

I'm having the same issue. Will this proposed solution disable the achievements?

Had to reload a game before the quest and stop the main quest for now. Console commands unfreezed the game but broke it. Couldn't access inventory.

Curious. I wonder what the trigger for the bug is. I've done this quest twice now following two different paths, and didn't have any issues.

I had the same issue with this quest. The OP's steps solved it for me.

Yes, all console commands disable achievements. There are mods to stop that from happening though

I can't end the mission. I'm stuck in the conversation screen with Walter and Barret just looking at me. I can access the character menu, but can't fast travel anywhere.

Same hopefully they fix this bug soon
