The closest known Black Hole would be Gaia BH1 which is 1,560 lightyears away.
Starfield is in year 2330 and earth is dead in this game already which is impossible.
There are black holes flying around in cosmos so there might have at least be one which drifted close to us.
Starfield is basically perfect concept for a space game imo.
Because in reality the star systems involved in this title like wolf, sol, etc... none of these stars have a black hole in them. Also simulating the light behavior involved in a black hole would be insane in real time.

Actually the way they stated earth died makes it make sense. But you have to play the game and not find weird things to complain about in order to get to that point.
