Everyone is Soooooo Talkative
I am walking by people and they are suggesting quests to me left and right. What happened to quest givers calling me an n'wah, spitting on my feet, then walking away like in real life?

Ya, I would feel more immersed if people were spitting on me when I try to talk to them. This game acts like I have 100 charisma with 100 relationship score with every person I talk to right off the bat.
It's such a thrill in the space adventure/exploration games too when you go from that little trader or scout and work your way up in a faction or get your own little fleet. Same with Mount and Blade. Most starts have you around the level of a peasant or the most basic village guard, far below the lofty kingship you can earn. It's the progress and overcoming adversity on the way that makes your story in an adventure or RPG. The best RPG stories are often the failures too, further highlighting how important it is.

My favorite line from the opening is when you tell the guard where you're from (choose your race) he replies... "I'm sure you'll fit right in"
Welcome to the asylum...! :steamhappy:
Ya of course imperials are always going to be happy to bring someone from somewhere else. The Ashlanders are racist as hell and impossible to please lol.

Morrowind was too far ahead of its time. All these advances in "technology" are not worth the cost of roleplay they seem to be associated with. How can Morrowind successfully measure reputation and execute so well on its value, while games today just down right patronize you with their NPC attitudes.

Morrowind had a wild card maverick developer involved - Michael Kirkbride - who was responsible for a lot of the weirdness they put into Morrowind. I missed that in the subsequent games... especially Oblivion which I found comparatively bland... not a bad game just lacking the edginess of Vvardefell.

That's bethesda storytelling. They want you feel special and important. They introduced this in skyrim. You could see it in Morthal where NPCs would stay on a spot for months in front of jarl's house waiting for you to approach so they could play the scripted scene. It wasn't a thing in Morrowind, at least prior to BloodMoon. Don't quite remember if Oblivion had this.

What's an n'wah

A wokie like you wouldnt like it... it's a racist slur from Morrowind
When you arrive on the island the locals can be very hostile and xenophobic
It's actually very immersive not being some great hero from the off

In game lore Morrowind iirc, is very xenophobic due to the imperials being jerks and hate outsiders because all they do is cause trouble. The dark elves essentially are bitter nationalists. Honestly kinda suprised the game was never marked as "problematic" by the woke-scolds.

The dunmer were the ones who were raging racists in Morrowind actually.

You can fix this somewhat with console commands (disabling achievements for that session)

fAIMinGreetingDistance 1.000000
fAIHelloTimer 300.000000
fAIGreetingTimer 300.000000
fAIExclusiveGreetingTimer 300.000000
fPlayerGreetingSameActorTimer 300.000000

Yup. This game screwed up the introduction completely. Your entry into Constellation is completely unearned and undeserved. Constellation should've been a secret society that you slowly discovered as you progressed along faction quests and you have to earn your way into the group.

Ya its kinda like I had to find out myself that I was the Neraverine where in this game, right off the bat, I could tell people are worshiping me.

Chatty NPCs are sort of a Bethesda trope though. Its in all their games. Yeah, its irritating.

YOU DARE BETRAY THE CLAN?!?

I've actually said that to people in real life...
