It looked like there were two landing places close together and only one of them was the proper one for the quest.
Wow, thanks, that solved it for me. I though it was bugged as I was looking for "sites" with the scanner. Have put it off the entire game waiting for a fix
Do NOT look for "sites" as you usually do with the scanner. Even though a few may show up when you land..
Do something completely different from every scanning situation so far: Turn around very slowly with your scanner up. When you face the right direction, you should see small glitches on the white circle. Walk there.
Solution: You need to go back to a save before you started the mission. So before you went to the EYE and talked to Vladimir that will fix it.
Explanation: For us with the bug the game did not load the temple so that is why we can't see the distortions. If we reload the mission it gives us a new planet/destination with the temple, it is random. If you are very unlucky you can run into two bugged destinations in a row then you need to go back to the save before the mission again.
An update can not fix this bug for players that already encountered the problem but it can fix it for new playthroughs.
