Buff Effects stack?
Do buffs from things like hippolyta and paramour stack? (the speech buffs)

For ex, if I take a drug that gives +20% speech buff and another one that gives +25% speech buff do I get +45% speech buff?

I'm not sure about that particular scenario, but you can check your status by hitting tab and pressing B (or whatever key/button is assigned to seeing your status) to check your current % bonus. I did this to verify that simply taking Hippolyta twice did not increase my percentage, but rather just reset the 5m timer. Maybe it's different if you have two different sources/types of aid, but I don't have two types at the moment to try for you.

there was a game tip that says that buffs do not stack. two sources of the same buff the better of the two buffs takes effect while the other does not. i havent actually tested it myself, outside of heart+ i dont regularly use drugs.

Will the persuasion bonuses from a bottle of beer and a nice outfit stack?

No but there are exceptions. Which ones I dont know, but this could be an interesting thing to explain. Maybe someone knows?

I've just re-tested this and the answer is: Starfield buffs do not stack. Hippolyta buffs a +20 Persuasion, Paramour a 25%. With both applied, only the Paramour buff will show in your Status Stats. The buffs will also not stack with clothing, such as the Fitted Business Suit or other consumables, such as Cabernet.

Hippolyta
Effects
+20% Persuasion Chance for 5m

Paramour
Effects
Companion Affinity increases faster for 10m
+25% Persuasion Chance for 10m

Fitted Business Suit
Mods: +10% Persuasion Chance.

You can however equip a Neuroamp like the Neurocom Mark III to get an addition buff called Diplomacy +15% at the same time because it's a different social skill buff for a different reason: To convince an NPC not to fight or to stop fighting.

If you take multiple drugs, trying to stack buffs you end up addicted and now your carry weight is 20 less.

Multiple aid items with the same buff don't stack, the highest one takes precedence. They do stack with skills and equipment buffs, so using stealth, concealment, the stealth suit and reconstim all stack.
