Do you find it normal for a ventilation shaft to have the same dimensions as the hallways and doors within the same facility?
If you are really having a hard time understanding why that's strange there is nothing I can say to help you guy.
My guess from a realism standpoint is so maintenance technicians can walk through them in bulky space suits easier
I think people are used to seeing their little home air registers and thinking that's the universal norm for any building
