Why are vents so huge?
Is anyone else bothered by the unusually large vents that are the same size as the doors? Like, what's the deal with that?

I can't imagine there could be a mod to fix this but I wish there was

If i were to venture a guess. Likely something to do with it looking alright while you move around in them while in third person.

So that you don’t have to be able to shoot a two meter womp rat in order to blow up the Death Star.

WTF kind of brain damage do you have to have to be bothered by something so incredibly stupid and irrelevant?

Do you find it normal for a ventilation shaft to have the same dimensions as the hallways and doors within the same facility?

If you are really having a hard time understanding why that's strange there is nothing I can say to help you guy. :buzzed:

I work in a facility where the primary ventilation ducts for the largest part of the facility are 20 feet by 20 feet.

Because its a space game so needs vents (obviously) but they didn't want to actually, ya know, do proper vents because that would involve adding an actual crouch mechanic and the like so they just made them normal size doors and corridors, but called them vents. Just be thankful they aren't just teleport links I suppose.

My guess from a realism standpoint is so maintenance technicians can walk through them in bulky space suits easier

I’d say that’s a good guess. Like I said earlier, I work in a facility with massive ducts, precisely because people need to go in them sometimes AND they move a hell of a lot of air. I get where the OP is coming from, but in reality, huge vents aren’t all that uncommon.

I assume it's done because it's a video game and they didn't want the player having to crouch every time and make vent travel more boring than necessary.

I think people are used to seeing their little home air registers and thinking that's the universal norm for any building

Probably to make purging heatleeches easier.

I would guess you are correct on the technical reason.

My head canon is the union of the service personal won a 300 year fight to have their members access their workplace without too much crawling and bent backs. ;)

It's to adequately ventilate the stench that emanates from those fatass NPCs
