Simple FPS Boost
if you go to your display settings -> graphic settings
tick hardware accelerated gpu scheduling to off
restart your computer

it is increasing my FPS by about 20. Maybe try this if your having trouble.

My specs in case this matters at all
4K 120 FPS monitor
RTX 4090
I9 10900K
32 GB of RAM
m.2 SSD

It really sucks that things are getting buried so fast. I would like to know if this helps anyone else

Just tried it, maybe 1 or 2 fps difference for me... Not worth it really...

Glad I could help. Spread the word and maybe Bethesda or NVidia can fix it. I don't think it is supposed to work this way lol...

weren't you the guy posting just a few days ago about how the game was running perfectly on your 4090? why are you spending so much time trying to improve your game performance bro? you have the best card available and bethesda optimised the game right? why do you need to increase your fps? is sub 100 fps on cutting edge hardware not doing it for you?

20 fps boost thank you so much from 40 to 60

Now, that is a really weird way to fix it. Funky stuff going on under the hood here.

Curious to know everyone's specs here to see if there's a certain hardware pattern with HAGS on vs off with this game. This didn't help me with my ryzen 5 5600/rtx2070 super. I usually get 50's fps at 1440p in new atlantis in certain areas medium/low settings. Also running Win 11 and all latest drivers, including the new NVIDIA one released today 537.34.

Interesting. Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling is needed for DLSS 3 frame generation to work. Without it DLSS 3 will not work. So why does turning it OFF improve fps?

Did you find this effect by accident?

"Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling is a feature designed to reduce the load on your CPU during intensive tasks. Usually, the CPU assigns the graphics-intensive data to the GPU, so games, media-playing apps, or editing software run smoothly. To do so, the CPU gathers, assigns, and sets the priority for each task so the GPU can render it.

When the hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling feature is enabled, the dedicated GPU-based scheduler will handle the high-priority tasks. This way, the CPU can execute more tasks in the same amount of time."

So basically a way to choose if you want to hammer the CPU or the GPU.

yes, I installed the mod then the mod caused a net loss in FPS and I wanted to figure out why. This setting was the culprit.

My OS is Win 10 if that is at all useful. Havent played in a couple of days though. About to spin it up for the first time after any updates in the last 48 hours.

I think i've read it somewhere that SF engine confuses the GPU with fake predictions, so it is actually slower with that option on.

There was also something about enabling re-bar in the MB bios if your card supports it.

I am a PC gamer. Duh.

Is this a Win 11 setting because I'm not seeing it on Win 10.

From how you described it in the quote, it sounds like having the setting enabled will allow my GPU to run additional tasks, as opposed to if the setting was off, my GPU would run less tasks.

If I am understanding that correctly, it seems like it should make my specific computer specs more efficient. It is not the case with this game.

Very interesting if so.
