No local map? Really!?
So, it's 300 years in the future and MFs are traversing space but somehow GPS is not a thing? I should ask for directions on the streets like a medieval bum?

Uh what? there is one But each landing zone is its own giant map that is procedurally generated. So there is no online maps if that is what you looking for...

He's clearly referencing the cities.

I think he means a map for Neon, New Atlantis. You places that are scripted. So you don't have to try and follow the marker across multiple levels and you can find actual locations without wandering around blindly.

It really hurts in the main cities to not have a map. I'm very bad with directions, and have spent alot more time then I should have in them, just because I couldnt figure out where I was going or where I had been. But even worse is that we dont even seem get cardinal directions. Like at least tell me where north is. >.<

Then say it. Sigh, be specific sigh.

He did or did you miss the part about asking for directions on streets?

Open you scanner. It will show an arrow path to the mission.

A map would be nice but actually I enjoyed learning the city. It's fairly memorable. I was working with one of the constellation members and went to their family residence. It was in the middle of a city. And honestly the cities are memorable. I was able to simply walk back to it without a map as there are a ton of landmarks and such.

In the early game though it would be nice to know where the shops are after you have found them.

Not only that, it's just that bethesda games have had maps in all of their games. Why their latest release is going backwards in tech is beyond anyone's guess.

There is the ground map that gives an overview of the generated zone you're in which is helpful for general planet traversal.

But no city/dungeons maps. I haven't had to much of an issue since there is signs and kiosks that tell you where things are at, but I know there's people out that struggle with navigation in general.

North is based on Earths magnetic field. Though each planet that has life should have a magnetic field. Not sure what it would be called on other planets. And planets that have no magnetic field would have none.

I agree, cities need a map. But at least you can use your scanner and follow the glowing bread crumbs to reach your quest objective.

For quests, sure. Looking for a store? Not so much.

Sorry if I wasn't clear but I mean in the cities. There are no maps with markers for specific locations on them. I don't think they meant to not put them there which means the game is aggressively rushed. This is one of the most basic features any open world game has.

If I was cynical I'd say they probably left all maps out so that you can't tell what was a premade zone and proc-gen zone.

Either that or they unironically thought people wouldn't want detailed maps.
