Is there a way to compare ships?
So an elipse crew fired on me so I killed them all. Option to take over the ship...hmmm.
Is there a way to compare this ship with my current ship so I can decide if I want to trade up?

Yeah when you are checking the ships in your fleet you see the changes compared to the one you are using currently.

When you take a new ship, you don't abandon your old one, it's simply added to your fleet. You can go back to your old ship from any landing pad that offers modifications.
