Exploration is god awful. No Man's Sky is far superior if that's what you're interested in.
For the side stories and activities, it's worth the money, but only because there is a MASSIVE amount of content. Doesn't mean the majority of it is good, but some of it is decent. I'd give this game 6/10.
It's not like NMS as that's more a sim with poor questing and randomised everything. It's more Fallout in a space setting.
If you lean more towards a sim than an adventure, maybe NMS or Elite are the better options.
I agree. There is also other great games on it too. lies of p comes out later this month for it.
The only decent quest i had was to stick a tracker on the top of a building which was fun to get up, but the building was empty and around was empty.
So yeah i would say the 7/10 is accurate, its not outstanding but not terrible just average.
I think if you read the reviews the people who like it are trudging through to find some fun, which is not how a game should be really. I got it for free and would have refunded if not.
I would say the exploration loses to nms, the environment looks good, the story and situation loses to fallout. It lacks heart and stuff.
I don't feel it justifies a $70 price tag, but that's just my opinion. The planets are barren wastelands except for one structure, maybe a cave or two with sparse resources. Space doesn't feel like space, it feels like you're sitting in a static position and roll around. Quests are at least interesting and lots of fire fights, although get kind of same same after a while. Lots of dialog options. Lots of weapons and gear. It's a good game, just not great.
