Not a game for pack-rats :(
I love looting ! I mean you just didn't kill 20 guys to leave all the goodies on there dead bodies :( or explore planets and leave all the stash there :(

There has to be a better way, maybe a scraping option and some NPC Traders on planets random areas not just in towns to sell and buy stuff !

use a trainer or use the console commands for more inventory space :-)

There are almost always traders or provisioners at Civilian Outposts and other non-hostile mining/colonist POIs that you can trade with.

You can also trade with ships out in space, some planets (like Mars) have quite a few you can use to unload goods.

Yeah, its terrible for collectors and pack rats. Such a shame. I wonder if using the console for carry weight would turn off achievements.

To be fair: There is a way in game through the use of existing mechanics to get your O2 consumption to -100% for those that like to pick up everything. Search the forums for the posts that detail it.

I wouldn't even consider what I am doing as being a pack-rat, I am just using the outposts for what they are intended and struggling because all of the containers have ♥♥♥♥ weight limits. This games inventory and storage system just plain sucks.

Today for example I have got very little done in the way of playing the game because I am doing inventory management at my outposts. Which isn't horrible, but it also isn't a ton of fun.

The issue outside of achievements is even if you do increase your carry weight via commands, you will run into the biggest issue...massive performance drop. Every time you open a menu/storage thing/try to switch weapons, the engine re-reads ALL of your inventory. So even if all you have is zero weight items, doesn't matter, the game will start lagging to hell and back if you have too many items on you. The weight limit in game is likely to players do not run into that performance issue.

The solution I found was to increase your ships base cargo to something ludicrous like 500k, and then increase the transfer range to 2500. That way I can still loot goblin everything I want, I just have to transfer things once I get full, but can do that without being at the ship.
