Is the game that bad that you have to rely on mods?
Is the game that bad that you have to rely on mods hoping it makes the game fun? literally, just read the reviews. They are all waiting for mods because the game is so horrible.. tells you alot about the game really.

there are also plenty of people that enjoy the game as it is (myself included). that being said, is this game game of the year contender? absolutely not. id give it a solid 6.5/10

No. I usually do one playthrough without mods on a Bethesda game. Mostly because it takes a while for the mod tools to become available. That's when we can start getting the good stuff. But I must admit the storage capacity is a huge problem. I wouldn't mind a mod that improved that aspect of the game.

No you don't need mods to enjoy this game.

This is like asking if puzzles are bad because you have to put them together yourself, or if crosswords are bad because you have to interpret the hints and fill in the spaces with the letters you think are correct.

^What this guy said.

I've played 20 hours with zero mods.

I just got major bug after playing about 7 hours. while in space, everything is blank except only stars. I can't see my ship or myself at all, so I had to land on planet/moon, and everything is back to normal. Restart didn't fix major space bug at all.

EDIT: seem only way to fix that is to jump to different star system. That's it.

The game is good with no mods, runs good, looks good enough to me. I don't need mods to enjoy a good time.

Yes. I don't play with mods because I don't trust them, but this game could stand a great deal of improvement. I suspect that mods are going to be in high demand with this one.

The only mod some people rely on right now is the DLSS mod, otherwise, it's playable.

You don't need a mod for that, a simple console command will do. I've done it in all of the beth games, because I'm a packrat and I hate inventory management. The most beautiful thing is though, I can change it.

The only game I heavily modded is Skyrim. (Not into the Fallout games myself) End result was pretty good though and gave the game legs. Generally though I very rarely use mods since the games are pretty good as is.

If the game has to rely on them, yeah. Not only does it show how lackluster the game is but it negatively extends to the devs as well. That's why I'm generally on the fence on how I see mods with BGS games.

The notion applies to any game actually.

So just because a game supports mods it is bad? So most games these days are bad because of mod support? Since when is mod support a bad thing? These troll posts by avatars that dont actively own the game aren't even trying anymore, or are they that stupid. My guess is the last one...

Supporting mods? Nothing wrong with that. Many games do. Requiring mods? That's a different story.
