there may not be 50 different blade options but the one i have has been a blast.
It's an archaic means of dispatching threats in this setting if you can't use a lightsaber to deflect projectiles with the Force.
There is kinda a general lack of all weapons in the game to be fair.
There are 20 weapons total I believe, including melee.
Yea, that's the one interesting option I mentioned in the OP.
Still feels kinda criminal to not have some sort of power fist to support fist playstyle, though. Or some sort of super sledge type weapon. It's always fun hitting people with a big, bone crunching, monster of a weapon that knocks them down or sends them flying.
Yeah, the lack of variety and the way that customization has been downgraded from f4 is kind of shocking. Like, maybe i'm spoiled from having played the game with all the dlc and certainly mods but im pretty sure even base fallout 4 first day had much more variety and ability to customize weapons on the benches...
Yea, that's true. I feel like there's JUST enough to represent most of the ranged-type weapon playstyles, while melee gets pretty shafted.
It's like they were trying for a more realistic approach by not including stuff like a power fist or sledge hammer type weapon, but I don't really understand why when you've also got Starborn powers and stuff mixed in anyways. Sci-fi is supposed to really be about letting your imagination run a bit wild, but they kept it pretty tame from a weaponry standpoint even compared to more grounded sci-fi like Star Trek.
I'm sure mods will help remedy the situation once the modders have time to cook, but it's shocking how little melee playstyle is supported in this game compared to all the other Bethesda rpg's.
Especially considering all the talents geared for a melee playstyle
Yea, I started as Ronin and saw that there was a pretty big chunk of the skill tree devoted to that playstyle, but it's just not well supported from the other aspects of the game.
