There are quite a few storage options for homes - and crafting benches. You just have to build/place them yourself.

yea but the max storage is 250 did they not think we werent going to farm resource or pick weapons?

Yeah that's dumb. Bethesda don't think ahead.

I agree. 150 for one crate?! You need all kinds of materials to build an outpost and it is hard to remember what is required so you grab everything and some stuff weighs a ton. It wouldn't be a problem if you could just build one big storage unit but now I have to build 10 or 20 or ...? Guess what you need to do so? More heavy material. You cannot track what is in the crates and the outpost builder doesn't recognise the contents of the crates. You have to pick up everything and then dump it again. This can quickly become a grinder game. This is vastly different from fallout 4. Tracking option when you want to track everything is useless. It makes the game so boring I have given up building an outpost and loaded an older save after I bought the house in Akila.

Build an outpost, build resource containers. That's the point of outposts.

Don't bother mining, just buy what you need from a trader as you need it. It's really cheap and will save you wasting a lot of time.

My ship is my house.

It's a heavily gunned, heavily shielded, flying RV.
