Any must have mods?

I put a few, nothing big really, minor changes to improve basic experience (at least for me), but I wonder if there are some really, really good mods that improve the experience.

Try the DLSS mod if you have a Nvidia card to improve the performance, gave me about 10-15 FPS.

Hopefully we get some Melee Combat improvement mods in the near future.

Currently using,

Starfield UI- Can't endorse enough makes the janky inventory UI better.

Better HUD- Fixes more of the annoying parts of the HUD like moving the text towards the bottom of the screen when you gain exp, and discover a new location instead having it pop up right in the middle of the screen.

Starfield performance boost- a customized .ini to add a few FPS

DLSS mod- just follow the intrustions because it takes a few steps like adding files to the game folder etc.

I tend to stay away from Reshades its ususally not worth the performance hit but if you want to take fancy screen shots thats the way to go.

What's the Script Extender for?

It's a requirement for the mod enabler ... even the author of the non SE mod enabler recommends using it.


It's also used for a few others mods that I use but aren't on my list of 'must have".

Literally the only mod I use is one that lets my character follow the same rule for spacesuits that the companions have. If they don't have to wear one, I shouldn't have to wear one.

And the one that lets me keep achievements while fixing the above issue.

in fact I don't understand anymore, one time you have to install the mods in the folder my documents/my games/starfield and another time it's on the disk where the steam game is installed etc....

There is one that changes the speed of door animations, and another the changes the speed of sitting/entering the pilot seat. I find both indispensable:
