Can't find lubricant anywhere

I've looked up online where to find lubricant en masse but NONE of the stores I visit carry it. I can't even find any planets where I can get it off plants. I'm at a loss.

Have you looked in the UC distribution Center in jamison? I would look for it in all the vendors there.

Check the traders in civilian outposts in the various planets. They sometimes have resources that are hard to come by. You can also save scum those traders by saving as soon as you land on the planet then going to the outpost and talking to the trader.

UC in Mars is your best bet for the real hard stuff. I needed Inndicite Wafers. I went to every store in the game that could have possibly sold them. Multiple times. Then I rememberered the little hole-in-the-wall UC store and they had a lot rare parts and got all I needed.

Scan plants and animals on planets. Some of them provided resources, or track it using R and you'll get the little icon when pillaging places

can be raised on farms in outposts too, just need zoology I

Yeah, a lot of those basic biological materials are best harvested from fauna. If you play through the Lock - at the start of the Crimson Fleet sequence - you can get a lot of adhesive, for example.
