Looting - uneccessary grindy, missing features?
Usually there is a lot to loot in Bethesda games - which is good - i like that since the world feels more realistic that way BUT in Starfield

- there is a weird mix of items that are lootable and not lootable but look very similar
- a weird mix of items that look like something used for crafting and trash
- there seems to be no way to know what has already been looted
- due to all of that combined looting takes way longer and is way more time consuming than it should be
- a lot of things that should have interresting loot simly are copied to infinity - like lockers - you even have to open some 2twice (top and bottom) yet they often have nothing or just trash in them
- this also makes other things weird, for example books and story content vs all of the trash items that look similar for example notepads etc.
Combined with not having a map for orientation (especially indoors) its pretty annoying to try to loot every room after combat.

How do others handle looting especially in bigger indoor areas? Do you just loot the enemies instantly and just ignore the rest?

If i think about games like Skyrim it was made in a way better way for players to see what is actually lootable and to find the loot when doing the looting after a battle. If i remember correctly there was also an indicator if an enemie was already looted etc.

I seriously do wonder now how others loot - especially how for example do you know which enemies and chests were already looted? And how do you loot fast and in an efficient way.

Use the scanner to find lootable items. Takes a little extra time to go over everything.

Some things you might start ignoring. Main things to grab are resources, crafting items, ammo, meds, and gear. Even then, I started leaving weapons behind. This is with the capacity perk maxed at this time.

You can also load up followers with stuff you want to keep. And then dump everything else in the hold.

It definitely seems like they need a "loot all junk" button at the vendor, but I may not have put enough time in to find the right vendor or discover how much of the junk I'm picking up is actually junk. I did notice that your encumbrance limit seems very, very low compared to all the junk there is to pick up.
