🪦 Abandon all hope for Elder Scrolls VI. 🪦

TES VI will have stratospheric sales based purely on hype alone, and now too many people have now made it clear to Bethesda that they're willing to give positive reviews to mediocre, overhyped, unimaginatively designed, unimmersive, bland, games.

Bethesda have been given no impetus to "do a Larian" and provide a breathtaking, captivating, truly immersive and satisfying roleplaying game. What we'll get is another cookie cutter "like it or lump it" shallow clunkfest, created by outsourcing all aspects of development to multiple global studios.

We're at a point where we need to start coming to terms with the now unavoidable fact that Skyrim will always be the last decent Elder Scrolls game.

Keep this in mind when Todd starts flashing his snake oil salesman grin again and the TES VI hype train begins.

RIP Bethesda. ☠️

I think it's a good game even though it is not optimized well but calling it fantastic is a stretch right now maybe if they start pumping out patches.

Honestly, this is my real worry. I don't want any of this procedurally generating POIs around me, cities stuffed with pointless randomly generated citizens, no city maps, nerfed stealth and melee, clunky UI. At least this game doesn't have a voiced protagonist.

They streamline their games way too much, Starfield feels like it was made a decade ago, it's so outdated and not up to todays standards.

I've been playing it on a decent rig with an SSD, and the game is fine. It's fun, the handmade content is really good, the procedurally generated content is nice for grinding levels. But I don't think it deserves the 10/10s.

There's a really good chance of that happening. On the other hand, who knows where AI goes in coming years. It's possible that AI will help make games like these immensely more rich than we can imagine now. Or it could go the other way and games become even more dead and bland just like a lot of the AI generated art we see now.
