Ship Speed Discussion
I've been trying to figure out ways to improve ship speed but there appears to be a hard lock on the Top Speed values.

Class A: 150

-933 Boost Speed
-233 Cruise Speed

Class B: 140

?

Class C: 130

?

I'm not far enough in the game to get access to Class B & C hardware but it seems like they're hard locked with slower top speed but often higher thrust power.

Has anyone tested the max speeds on Class B and C ships while in space, ie: boost and cruise?

I managed to boost up to the 2000. So I am not sure how much it depends on how many engines you have, reactor power and etc.

A little experimentation to me has proven that "top speed" is limited specifically by the slowest engine you have equipped on the ship.

There's an A Class Engine (White Dwarf 3015) that has 180 Top Speed. If you use nothing but these A class engines, your ship has a top speed of 180. Your 'cruise speed' is going to be relative to both this top speed and your Engine Systems skill.

However, these engines do not seem to have the higher levels of maneuvering thrust generated some B and C engines, thus, they may have speed but lack mobility on larger vessels.
