DPS or DMG?

When you are choosing weapons, which one do you look for? Which one is better?

Depends on the function of the weapon. A stealthy sniper wants as much damage in a single headshot. But a close quarters SMG needs high ROF

edit: personally, I carry a semi auto high damage battlerifle, a rapidfire rifle, a very high damage shotgun and a high damage sniper rifle.

I prefer semi auto, armor piercing rifles with the most damage. One shots most enemies, esp with stealth and rifle skills maxed. Those it doesnt kill with one shot, go down with a follow up shot. Put a suppressor on it and the game is basically easy mode.

I look at dps mostly. But as the person said above, for sniper-use guns specifically, I like damage only.

DMG. I'd rather 2-tap than sink an entire mag into one enemy.

I find that between the mobility of my jet pack and of the AI's jet packs, not to mention the terrormorphs, that rate of fire is essential. Or a shotgun, or both.
