I would advice heading over to this thread, as there are suggestions there on how you can work around this. It is possible!

I've actually written in to Bethesda about this. Not expecting an answer, but here's hoping!
it still hurtful for me as a player with tinnitus (i was diagnosed with tinnitus)
as far as i an aware Star-field is the FIRST and usesed it in the most places possible
I don't think this is about having the developer accomodate for the tinnitus minority, as this is basically bad sound design. It is unneccessary to have a +30 dB artificial spike at such high frequenices, and frankly I believe it can cause harm to even healthy ears over time.
also tinnitus is uncommon :(
I don't want to educate people about tinnitus on Steam. This is not how it works though and it is a condition with multiple and even unknown causes.
Bottom line, If it bothers you though, you should avoid it but loud gun sounds over an extended time are more likely to cause a problem if you are concerned.
Didn't notice any problems with Starfield, probably due to tuned down high frequences in EQ of Sonic Studio. Before I did that, GSSh-01 in Tarkov was just slowly killing me.
If someone healthy interested in what tinnitus is, find online tone generator, set it to sawtooth at 9400 or so kiloherz. Then imagine that thing in your ears all the time, 24/7 for the rest of your life.
