Had I known how bad they still are I would take Introvert and just not fool with them.
Companions in the ground team are... kinda annoying to be honest.
It IS annoying that this game doesn't include any companion direction - "go here" or "attack this" style commands - not that any Beth game ever has, but it's a pretty common thing today that would have been really nice to have.
In Skyrim, couldn't you at least tell the companions to stop in one place?
You can make them wait in one spot, but that’s not what they’re referring to. They’re talking about combat orders: go stand behind that cover, or basic stuff like: act in a support role, only attack from range. It’s either follow me or wait here, everything else is ai.
That being said I usually bring a pack mule with me, haven't had them jump out in front of my shots yet.
It was common for decades, even in Mass Effect 2 you had a reasonably complex set of orders. Bethesda is just too lazy to update their systems because mods do their work for them. Did you noice the game needs mods for DLSS and don't even have FULL SCREEN unless you modify de .ini folder? Yeah.
Every game that has had mechanics to order my companions around has been something that I just haven't wanted to bother with. I'm focused on me and that's it. And having to order companions around would definitely be in the "breaking immersion" category.
I doubt it, FO4 never had any mods that made the companion AI any better just sexier.
Considering that I'm fist punching my way through the entire game, a ranged fighter is perfect for me.
Sarah has been an immense help on the harder settings.
The only time that she was turned into egg salad was when we fought the two Terrormorphs.
Other than that, she hasn't died very often because I sprint towards every enemy to distract them. Need to keep her alive for support as much as possible.
