Bethesda Fanboys Are Pathetic

I'm no greenhorn to gaming, and I've peeked into many communities over the dacades, but this community hands down places within my top 3 of most psychotic gaming communities.

I have been a long-time Bethesda game fan. I enjoyed Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, and Fallout NV (I know, Obsidian), and even Fallout 4, albeit slightly less so. Fallout 76 was one of the worst games of the year when it released, so I didn't have any high hopes for Starfield or TES VI. And my suspicion was correct.

Calling Starfield sub-par is an understatement. This game is absolutely dreadful, and anyone that has enjoyed previous Bethesda titles should expect more. There is absolutely no value in exploration whatsoever in Starfield, despite 1000 planets, they are all EMPTY PROCEDURALLY GENERATED TRASH. Even the occasional cave or tiny mining outpost you find, the level design for them is all the exact same. An entire fun aspect of Bethesda RPGs completely stripped away, and the Stockholm Syndrome afflicted fan(atics)s gobble it up like it's gourmet.

This game, despite its name, has literally nothing to do with space. The entire space element is a backdrop for loading screens and porting you to different instances. The space combat is irrelevant. Absolutely insane how something that was supposed to be so critical has literally no place in the game. You cannot fly directly to other planets. You cannot land on planets from space. You cannot take off from planets. You cannot fly around on planets. The entire space element is false advertising.

The NPCs literally look worse than Skyrim or Fallout 4. Seriously, why does everyone look like ugly claymation figures? And why are the facial animations even worse than TES: IV? Lip sync seems to always desync as well. It's seriously bizarre. For something so demanding, the graphics sure are crap. I literally modded Skyrim 7 years ago to look better than this game in 2023, and it ran better too. Now that's pathetic.

The main story sucks. The optimization is awful. You fanboys that are blindly leaving 10/10 reviews are unhinged and deranged. This game is a 5/10 TOPS. Me personally, I'd give it a 3/10, and that's being generous.

I concur on all points OP made.
Starfield gets basic game design wrong, and it's worrisome to see it not only be accepted, but celebrated.

Wrote a review earlier to try and depict how "nothing" Starfield is in a game sense. Coincidentally, also gave it a 3/10 with a 5/10 at its best: https://steamcommunity.com/id/Zynj/recommended/1716740/

I am still looking for people to point out how the game is not what it has been critiqued as, so please, come with some other response to the critiques than "hater", "liar", "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥", etc. as that does not make anyone any wiser about the "truth" I and many others have missed.

I 100% agree with the OP. I would've refunded this game also, but I got it via an AMD promo and can't. If you look at my profile, I've played 8h and I'm done with this crappy game, it's NOT worth my time.
This game is 3/10 at best, but it crashes so much, or a bug keeps you from progressing at all and you'll have to restart, that I would rate it way below that.
Everyone who rates this game above 6/10 must be mental, there's no other way to put it.
Call me a bot, idc. $100 for getting annoyed by this disaster of a game for 8h and a couple dozen of crashes later is a scam.
