Workbench obstruction bug
"You cannot use this. It´s Obstructed."
No, it isn´t: no matter were i build the damn thing, suddenly the industrial workbench won´t let me create the damn whathever wires i need to complete the outpost. In the ground, inside a building, over the passageway - nothing works.
During base construction i walk overloaded, have Barret following me and i´m trying to chain connect the resource posts, but the work bench is suddenly bugged. What´s the reason and workaround? Thanks.

Same thing happened to me with the industrial workbench, but not with the cooking station. Tested this on the 2 floor habitat in the outpost.

Need help with this bug, too. The Research Station and my industrial workbench in my outpost has this error, too.

Solved by going from the gay button solution: restrating steam AND the game, etc. Right now i can´t even found an outpost, so i had to quit/restart again. Seems that whathever is happenning is linked to multiple issues. and you have to save, quit game, quit steam and restart everything. Annoying.

No need to be this hardcore, it seems. Just a quit to main menu and reloading fixed it for me.

Can confirm fix - Quicksave your game, quit to main menu, then reload game. Worked for me.

To 'call your ship' from anywhere on a planet after being overloaded and walked too far from it: create a base, build a shipyard-type launchpad (yeah, you have to carry the materials around), then modify your ship from there until it appears. It won´t: you need to save and reload for the ship to appear, and it will appear sunked inside the pad (mine does) so you change it again (go to shipbuilding mode, change the color or placement of some weapon and click accept changes).

You can just quick save (f5) and instantly quick load (f9) and it will fix the issue until you fast travel directly to the outpost again.
If you want to get rid of the issue completely you need to either move the outpost beacon further away (I moved it a bit further away from the buildings and the issue stopped) or just fast travel using the landing location so you spawn at your ship instead of the outpost directly.

This worked!

Happened to me after placing industrial workbench and research station on the surface in one of my early outposts. They were somewhat close together (but not blocking each other), so I moved and rotated one of the stations away. After that I could use it.

At the same time, I also had a bug where I couldn't build from bird's eye view. First-person building worked fine. Quicksaving and reloading fixed both. When I was trying to build, I was overloaded as well. Maybe has something to do with it?

I can confirm this happened when not overloaded at my outpost. In outpost edit mode, in overhead view could not place items or navigate menu. And in normal mode I couldn't use a workbench. Saving and reloading fixed it. Also when this happens, sometimes followers assigned to the outpost just stand on top of their workdesk not moving.

I had this issue. I had built a Straight wall Small verion of the habitat. No number of restarts etc fixed it, but when i moved everything, and deleted the habitat as it was still buggged, it turned out i had 2 of the habitats in same exact location, as if i built 2 for 1. In hindsight that made sense, the lighting in that one was blinding bright compared to the interconnected same versions of it.

May just be that, delete it and see if it still stands after. Simple save before can save from a tragedy.

Can confirm bird eye view bug, it happens randonly and needs save/reload to fix.
