Controls/Functions are not Intuitive
What am I missing here? I am not a noob to computer games, yet I find myself constantly slogging through menus to get something done. Is there not an easier way to look at a map of where I am on a planet and set a way point that shows up in my HUD? Why do I have to be in "scanner mode" to be able to see the trail highlight? Why can't I interact with things while in scan mode?

As a fan - that's a fair statement.
I kinda hate the layout:
- they should've designed a Keyboard Binding, and an XBox binding.
- instead they merged the two and got it badly wrong.

>> accidentally shoot the Marshall

> trying to lock onto a space-station to dock
>> stand up and step out of the chair

I cannot express enough how ACCURATE this is. The one that annoys me the most is having to back out of 3 to 4 screens to get back to gameplay rather than ESC being an end to all open menus.

I play by controller and on there you simply hold start button to open map while a short press on start opens up menu

It's not a lack of intuitiveness in the game. It's lack of intelligence in the player.

Welcome to Bethesda games in the age of Xbox releases. FO4 has the same keybinding oddity issues, and a lot of the reason why ship building is so damned difficult is they had to make something that would work with a controller. Wait til you realize there are things your character can do which, by default, there are no key bindings for like the alternate-binding for jumping giving you a rocket boost forward with your jetpack instead of jetting you up.

I use the controller for this game and it works really well. You can hot swap to keyboard if you want. On Mars they have blasting explosions and the controller gives vibration feedback. And it is just very quick to access everything.

I played Fallout 4 with Keyboard so I also somewhat know the controls for that game and it's about the same. That interface seemed potentially more cumbersome with the pip boy.

Yeah. Enjoying the game but I have decided it's the last one I'll ever buy where PC is fused with console instead of done separately. It always leads to feeling like everything is dumbed down and/or navigating menus is weird.

They were designed for controller users sitting a room apart from a 55 inch 4k screen.

Not a hunched over PC user.

This issue started with skyrims D-pad menu
