Not sure if putting the large landing pad will help, the small landing pad seems to get ignored.
So that's why my ship is never using the landing pit.
Have you tested using the initial landing sight as your outpost?
Does that make a difference?
Not sure mate, Think it might?, But I dont know if your landing marker gets turned into an outpost marker if you use the first location, not tried.
Yeah even trying that doesnt work for me, it just defaults to the nearest exploration area and ignores the outpost completely even if its highlited from orbit
that's how its supposed to work, but doesn't work all the time for me
(or 4 if you need to upgrade to Landing Pad with Shipbuilder):
Edit edit: I got the "Landing Area" marker near my base to move that my ship kept going to instead of my landing pad but only once. When I fast traveled back to that base, the ship was gone so option #1 may be the only permanent solution.
Edit: "Large Landing Pads" meant the Pad with Shipbuilder which I don't think needs any perks.
1. Maybe if your base is small you could delete it and land a bunch elsewhere. If it's there, go to a new system and wait 2-3 days, jump back and retry. Be sure to build base near ship just in case or keep landing till you're satisfied with what's there.
--Build outpost close to where you landed and check if ship is within circle border. Next, build a Landing Pad. Then land on other side of map 5x and see if that initial site is gone. If so, land at base to check Landing Pad (Small Pad is for ships less than 40 meters). If it's still there travel to it and retry landing a bunch all over.
*IMPORTANT:* Upon landing, some build within the same space their ship is so when an outpost building is down, it is within that yellow border. Sometimes, I explore to find more resources in one area by looking around with "outpost" in hand to see which resources are available. Doing this means I'm farther away from my Landing Site so when I build Large Landing Pad and travel to the outpost site, the ship isn't there. I THINK it's cuz I didn't make the base close enough to the Landing Site. I can't remove that site either.
2. Make Large Landing Pad with the terminal - Go into modify ships - Ship Builder - Cancel.
(This will teleport ship but for me, I must do this each time I travel to an outpost with this issue. I have tried various travel methods: Cockpit -> Takeoff -> Travel back, Going to another system and back etc. all in vain. That Landing Site won't be removed despite making more).
3. Similar to #2, on Pad terminal, modify ships and make another your "Home" ship then do it again for your original ship. This MUST be on the Large Landing Pad.
Edit: it worked once for me and now it's not landing on the pads so... what I'll have to do from now is use Ship Builder terminal and enter modify then exit.
Read my above on #2. I did it this way I think:
Have Landing Pad w/ Terminal -> Cockpit -> Takeoff -> Land at the Landing Area that's near base (if you have) -> Cockpit (if it places you off ship) -> Takeoff -> Land far away about 5x
while making sure they aren't very close one another.
Note: be sure to always "Takeoff" from cockpit as a second measure cuz idk if this is necessary.
Lmk if this worked for you!
The issue is that the ship won't land on the pads for a lot of people which then creates a "Landing Area" each time you land that outpost. I've been researching and troubleshooting it many different ways, but found no permanent fix.
I think it may be building a new outpost too far from ship so that it's not within that base's yellow border, so it must create a new site when you fast travel directly to the base. That's intentional, I assume, in order to stop collision and other physics issues. BUT the solution the devs give is the landing pads. Some ships are too big so there's the other option/s. I go into my ship terminal, select modify -> ship builder -> exit and it will teleport it there.
BUT if you build your base right next to your ship when you landed, the issue may never happen.
I'm pretty sure I have a base where my ship always lands.
Large Landing Pad is for ships 40-80m.
If you built a large landing pad go to the console at the landing pad and select edit and exit. It will move your ship to the landing pad.
If you have a large landing pad and a small landing pad, get rid of the smaller one.
You dont highlight the landing spots, those were the old ones, just hover the outpost itself to travel to.
