Todd Howard is a silly guy. "you might need to upgrade your PC"
Today on Bloomsberg Technology, The audience asked Todd Howard "why isn't Starfield optimized for the PC. The silly guy that Todd Howard is says this - "uuhh we did, its running great, It is a next gen pc game. We really do push the technology so you may need to upgrade your pc for this game but it's got a lot of great stuff going on in it and the fans are responding awesome." I can't believe he had the audacity to say this when the 3000 series cards are barely hitting 60fps on all resolutions and the 4000 cards can't get above 90-100fps. This probably means no patch or optimization any time soon bc you know, it runs soooo well.

Here is the clip of him saying this: https://twitter.com/tomwarren/status/1699703814209548630?s=19

after seeing these comments It's insane to me that people cannot grasp the idea that just bc it runs great on your rig doesn't mean its running well for every one else. Like its really not that hard to understand and then you guys will also sit there and defend Bethesda for releasing a poorly optimized game that took 8+ years to make. like i truly don't get it man.

That's good that it runs for you but most people don't have 4090s. We shouldn't need top of the line GPU that cost $1600 to play a game.

I ran the game on my second computer which is a Ryzen 5 2600x with a GTX 1070 and it ran good, I will try it on my main system (Ryzen 7 2700x, and RTX 3070) soon

I have a 3070 Ti and Ryzen 7 5800x and I'm barely hitting 60 fps in most areas with optimization mods and DLSS mod at 1080p

what about with Raytrace off? Honestly the performance impact that feauture has on several games isn't worth it

This game doesn't have Ray tracing. I have DLSS on for better frames. It give me like an extra 5fps.

I can run a whole load of other stuff with good performance. But I should apparently upgrade because… he can’t admit the problems. I have little hope with him at the helm. I think he should go now. People have a soft spot for him, but he keeps failing.

Playing on Game pass (Barely played 2 hours since I had work). I have a AMD 6800 non-XT with a Ryzen 5 7600 CPU and 32GB of Memory at 6000mhz.

I'm on all high settings, no up-scaling and the game runs buttery smooth. Also have the recent drivers from AMD that help Starfield.

how did that age?

expecting devs to hold back and purposely gimp their games so it can run at 400fps on 10 year old hardware is ridiculous

Buddy im on a 3070 Ti this card is not 10 year old hardware, it came out Jun 10, 2021 and my cpu is a ryzen 7 5800x and that came out Nov 5, 2020. barely 2 and 3 years old.
