Accidentally took off from Mars with illegal goods, what do I do?

I forgot I'd picked up something called VA'RUUN HERETIC WRITINGS. What do I do as if I travel anywhere the cops will probably get me.

Go to the Den in the Wulf System. Frequent pitstop to sell illegal cargo.

If you've managed to unlock access to a space station called "The Key" then you can sell it in space without worrying about planetary scans. That's what I did for now until I unlock the upgrade to bypass the scans. Also I don't have shielded storage yet

It’s based on how much cargo you have and skills. You can get damn close to 100% without skills

Can you just create outpost somewhere and just dump it there temporarily first? Come back to it when you start having shielded cargo? Sell those in the crimson fleet base. That should work also.

Multiple ways to deal with it. The problem is knowing what to do beforehand. Selling at the den is best because you make money. There's workarounds involving waiting to pass time to reset the vendor, but trade authority at the den might not be able to buy all the contraband in one go. Depending on how pure you want to play, meaning you don't want to cheese anything by just waiting for the vendor to grow more cash overnight, you can go any number of routes; sell some, dump some, stash some elsewhere and get it later.

Not sure if this has already been said but there is a trade authority rep in the wolf system at the den that will buy it. No scan in Wolf.

You can also sell contraband to the bartender at the red mile without being scanned before landing.
