Outpost building is a joke without a punchline
There isn't even a hotkey to enter building mode while in your outpost without running up to a pre-existing structure.

No grid snap; My autism is absolutely SEETHING about this.

There's absolutely no visual indicator when you're activating or deactivating a structure- Jesus Christ, it doesn't even change the text from 'Activate' to 'Deactivate'..

And to ice this ♥♥♥♥ cake, pirates will show up and just start shooting at your buildings like the cops from Idiocracy. When do pirates just start shooting random refineries and buildings? Wheres the benefit to them? How does this make sense??

Also there's no walls so if you want to defend your structures, you have to just surround your entire outpost with turrets, soaking up power requirements..

How did they manage to make this worse than the settlement system in Fallout? It's actually impressive.

Open your scanner F, then press R, bang you're in build mode. Press tab to toggle the other mode to fiddle with things. I would like a grid snap myself.

Toggle on/off snap would be nice.

Walls would be nice also, they might exist down the research tree though? I havent finished all of it yet so unsure.

But even if they are down the tree there should be at least a default wall available without tech'ing up.

Doesn't work after you've placed your outpost

I would like, but not be forced into, a grid mode. Also would like to have a rotate 90 degrees or rotate 45 degrees mode along with free rotate. It is really hard to place objects as it is. But they should have learned this from FO 4's building system and the complaints about it.

And don't forget the limited storage.
Want to store you resourcess? Have fun with this 200 Space Storage and your 5kg items.

I'm level 17 and I've maxed the Weight Lifting skill in a desperate, futile attempt to overcome this.

Go into scanner and select the outpost option. It opens the build menu. Works for me.
