Was there a patch or hotfix, or something?
This morning, I'm getting like 80+ FPS, and like mid 70s in New Atlantis. Before this morning, I would struggle in New Atlantis with like mid 50s. Not complaining, but wondering what was done.

It's the phantom update where Todd sneaked into your house and installed it manually!

Hmmm, strange. Played some more, and the performance definitely is better. According to my AMD software, averaging now about 75 fps. Prior to today, it was less than 60.

Maybe something you have running in the background is not as active in the mornings. Thus your system has more resources.
Maybe driver update you didn't notice?

Or some busted shaders that got cleaned up?

I actually noticed the same thing, I'm not sure what happened. No driver updates or anything, but New Atlantis was more smooth for me this morning. It wasn't bad, but I would get this hitch when transitioning zones, but that's not happening anymore, could be progress related?

While you were sleeping last night I broke into your house and did a little maintenance on your computer. You're welcome.
It's Bethesda, they won't fix anything in the next 2 months. As always they will rely on the modding community to fix their mistakes and worse performance.

They actually had a day one patch. It went up BEFORE the game got opened to the premium players though. But the patch notes are available if you google search for them.

Day one patches are normal, nothing special tbh and it fixed almost nothing with the performance problems a lot of players have

Not sure, and not complaining. It did crash once, and then I couldn't start it, so I rebooted, but after reboot, still running smooth.
