you're free to stay on your current playthrough as long as you like and don't reset.
but why should i be locked out, from accessing said powers without ending the game?
I like achievements like any other person, but im not oging to throw away a long grinds work, for a power ability, only to be told to start again.
Cohh explains NG+ without spoils, and why not to do it to fast.
There are unique benefits for doing the NG+. As you said, you get a unique ship, spacesuit, you keep your XP, skills, abilities and even the buffs from magazines etc.
What I don't think people realise, is if you repeat certain things they get bigger benefits. For example if you pick up a magazine you got in your first run, in the second one, it'll have a bigger passive buff on top of what you got in the first run. You can also recollect the abilities in future runs, and they increase in power. Lastly, there are some specific NG+ only activities/side stories as well as unique NG+ interactions in the world. You just need to find them :)
The general consensus has been to do the main story in your first run, without spending much time on ship building, outposts etc. And then do all of that in future runs. The game has been designed with NG+ in mind. Your not supposed to grind everything in one run and get to level 500. You can, but you miss out on those unique elements as mentioned above.
The idea is you repeat the run in your next life. When you do NG+ you still need to collect the artifacts, these change location in your new run, and get positioned further out into the universe where you will face much tougher enemies.
Ahhh. the most pointless thing. to repeat the same story, over and over, that is dull as ♥♥♥♥, and drum it in too you, only to have a pointless achievement in having a spacesuit the looks cool.
now i understand why this games industry is a complete mess.
but does the story change???? does it carry on? or is it the same story you have to repeat over and over? in other worlds, the end of the game isnt the end?
Starborn spacesuits suck because:
1) You can't workstation mod the suit
2) Suit & jetpack are merged into one which means you don't get 3 item mods on your boostpack and you can't workstation mod your boostpack.
Terrible item, people too dumb to realize these two points if they say otherwise.
You don't do the story over. You're given an option to skip the main story when you return to the lodge at the start of your new run. This then pushes you to go and collect the artifacts, which will be placed randomly in the universe (not where they were before) in much tougher locations. Once you collect them, you return to unity and get the option again. Once you've done the first run, the main story can be done in a second run in about 3 hours if you just fast travel to each place.
Ive dug and dug to figure out whether i should buy this game, and tried to ignore all of its fundamental flaws which are endless at this point, and here iam trying to understand the endgame, in order to ignore everything else, and im hit with yet another sucker punch.
gunna find something else worth my time and money.
Enjoy. x
Why no one mentions that? NG+ is not for repeating, but for playing all the side activities with an already better character, with an added spaceship, and additional storyline. (which was cr*p in the first place, the main story is boring, so u SHOULD skip it the second time).
Because most naggers didnt even try ng+ :)
They just repeat what they read from other people.
If you don't care about any of that, you can ignore NG+. It's as simple as that. But, if you do care about that stuff, it makes sense to do it to the point that you want before you do anything else that you won't be able to "take with you" like extensive base building and so on.
What exactly would you want in a new game plus?
Remember, it's supposed to be a new start, hence the name of the term. When you complete the main story, you're given a choice. Go into new game plus, or stay in your current universe and keep everything you have and continue on as you want.
I watched this, and what he's saying is as much a reason to rush NG+ 10 times and then do the open world stuff as it is to get bored of the open world stuff then do NG+.
