This has all the habs I want, easy interior to navigate. Rarely lose shields in battle. Great visibility from the bridge. Cora says she likes it. But I'm still "meh" over the looks
That is interesting. I am still working on the redesign of the Razorleaf and have changed it a lot and am nowhere close to that credit figure. Less than 100k value. lol. Even tho so far, I have spent over 250k on the redesign of my ship. But it may be as you say, because I have not used the most expensive modules I can.
You did a good job in working with it and she has a lot of cargo space, which may be what is contributing to her "blocky" look.
Each to his own of course. But I am not a fan of any ship which looks like a huge lego block. Not saying yours is that bad however. So don't take this as criticism.
Maybe the OP likened it to a Lego because of the modular block building nature of the interface? I've had friends describe it like this for that reason.
Jaggid got you covered there. Yep, it's Deimos.
If you're interested in that shape, there's one from Nova that you might also like.
Yeah its kinda odd that HopeTech doesn't actually make enough parts to build an operational ship. No standard hull blocks, really limited structurals, very little on the side walls. Nova Galactic is all structural and habs, really nice ones in my opinion, the Nova Galactic captain's quarters is great compared to the turd of the Stroud-Eklund CQ. Nova Galactic at least has the excuse of being shuttered and bankrupt so its not surprising to be incomplete, but HopeTech? No excuse. Their ships like Silent Runner (the apex of their line) almost has more Deimos than Hopetech.
I like the Overseer bridges, it really does fit the ugly space barge aesthetic. The seats on the Kon-Tiki bridge are set up like a small basement sermon tbh, there's no panels, monitors, tables, anything, but the thing that bothers me is the big horizontal metal bar in your face. Overseer, iirc, is a clearer "windshield" picture.
Stroud is generally my favorite aside from Captain's Quarters, Nova Galactic habs and structure I use in almost every ship, Deimos is really solid overall but I generally use the structurals and landing gear. iirc Nova Galactic has a landing gear with 4 thrust; you'd think HopeTech would be invested in fat landing gear considering the space van/truck/barge focus but no.
I don't know if this is the case of the issue, but I recommend you take a look at the corporate HQ of each manufacturer for full access to structural cosmetics of a specific brand; this is, Titan for Nova (Sol), Deimos for Deimos (Sol), HopeTown for HopeTech (Polvo, same spot as Narion I think?) Stroud-Eklund (I don't remember this one, was it at Cheyenne?) and Taiyo at the Ryujin Tower in Neon.
Yep, what @Rragar said. There's a metric ton of Structural parts that are simply not available unless you go to the specific manufacturer locations.
Of all the parts that are not available at the Outpost ship builder, those bug me the most. It would be freaking nice if there was one place to be able to see and use ALL structural parts. Because, for me at least, those are the ones that I just can't mentally keep track of all of the options available.
I have found it hard to have a lot of cargo space and yet, a smooth, cool look to a ship. I resigned the Razorleaf so the Habs was all one level ( no ladders, outside of the Landing bay one ) and yet had powerful guns and a large cargo capacity.
What it ended up looking like was a big flat 8 x 12 cake pan. :P
I guess what I may have to do, is design a powerful ship, with a smaller cargo space and spartan type living mods for the ship crew. Only use it for space battle quests.

and it ruined my EZPZ walking route from the bridge->Workshop->Exit
And most of the crew sit in a "ready room" type area? Weird.

HopeTech-55 Lander; 4 thrust.
I think their idea is to use side-mounted landers primarily to leave the bottom free for the big hab-sized cargo blocks.
Yeah. The ship building landing pad for the Outposts, should as a Outpost skill selection min, allow access to all ship modules ( ones you have earned to use from quests and base ones ) there. But, may never see that.
Lol. The name of the ship gave me a good hearty chuckle. You have a good imagination. :)
