I'm only missing a SMALL strip of the walkway, just down the ramp from the ship landing pad. It runs the entire width of the walkway, but it's only maybe a 6 foot long gap in the walkway. You can jump through to the terrain under New Atlantis.
I attached it to your comment specifically, because I also had the selling kiosk next to the ship services guy disappear. I haven't seen others mention that.
I'm on PC, with all specs WAY beyond recommended specs. I have an RTX 4080, and all of the other components were only released this year. I love the presumptuous guy who assumed that anyone who has this bug is using a HDD.
The game isn't even playable on a HDD. I've seen videos of people who installed it on a HDD, knowing that it would break like hell and wanting to record a video of it to show others. It's freaking horrible. Unplayable.
Exactly what I have. Double check the walls just next to the missing strip of floor. Is there two open wall panels leading to the terrain? If so, its a universal issue then.
That sounds almost exactly like what I'm seeing. I haven't checked the building behind the landing pad. I'll have to check that the next time I open the game. At least I've long since completed that quest, so that isn't as game breaking for me.
But yeah it's a thin horizontal strip of the walkway missing and the selling kiosk next to the ship services guy.
The problem started, when I sold a ship on the key, switched to the Frontier and got into the ship. I was teleported with the ship to the broken New Atlantis.
A small part of the way to the city from the ship is gone, I can jump over that. The ship Kiosk is gone and many other assets like trees and the GalBank ATMs are gone.
Also many NPCs are not there. All other parts of the City and the stores are not affected.
The first time I had the bug I went to the Eye and New Atlantis literally teleported with me into space... I am now MANY hours past the save when it occured and I won't go back.
Btw my PC uses a 4090, which is underutilized by the game (150-200W with 100% load instead of >300W) and a 5800X3D with a fast NVME SSD.
Two times in two different games at the Den, after selling a commandeered ship and changing to the other ship. When you enter your ship, look out your cockpit and appear to be in New Atlantis despite being docked to the station. When I took off from there half of New Atlantis was in Orbit in a big rocky ring.
First time the whole floor after the ramp was gone and stuff was floating in the air.
Second time only a small part of the floor is gone but also the Trade Authority terminal.
I think this is what happened to me. I just realized I am missing my two stolen ships and New Atlantis is missing a lot of assets. I've been saving a lot and still need to go back quite a few levels.
edit: also verify the integrity of the game files in order to repair missing files as steam is known to break games after updates. especially the bigger games
it's supposed to be because of the spaceport attack, no idea if it was supposed to be restored or keep signs of the battle but it just never loaded in. first time i went there broke me ankles
This is exactly how I caused the exact same bug in my saved game. And it seems to be persistent after it happens; need to load an earlier save to solve the problem. Save/reload, restarting the game, etc. does not work.
