Can't finish scanning a planet...
I finished the first planet Jemison and so wanted to go to another one in the same system, something like Grendarin? Anyways after scanning most of the planet I think I am now stuck.

I'm at 93% scanned for the planet and what it says I am missing is Fauna 6/8. When I click around the planet looking for landing zones it tells me biome and percent scanned, so the only biome that has anything under 100 is swamp at 82% scanned. So for the last couple hours I am landing in varios swamp areas and then searching and I cannot find any new lifeforms to scan.

What could I do?

Try to look for caves, flying creatures , but mostly caves.

Some creature fly, some are found in cave, and i may be wrong for the last but i suspect that some appear only during night, or day.

Land in coast area. You're probably missing 2 water creatures. Had the same problem.

If you hover over the ocean or other unlandable area and it says 0% it means there is something to scan there, even if you cannot directly land there.

In case of swamp it may be in water or the air.

Swamp coast would be your best bet.

Bet you it's fish that you need.

Fish. Gegarian (sp?) has 2 species of fish. Land as near the ocean as you can and hit up the coastline. Aim scanner into water and the fish can be scanned from further away than most things. That said, I found it helpful to put a point or 2 into scanning to increase the distance the scanner will scan. Oh, and save often! I died to mysterious causes there a couple of times (hit by invisible nontargetable mob that 3-shot me in 2 seconds) and it's really frustrating to lose several scans. The fish are fairly spread out and can take awhile to find enough to complete. Hope this helps and happy exploring!

what does it mean when it says you have 4/4 resources but theres a circle with a question mark in it?

You have to explore random points of interest. In can be mineral wonders, geological anomaly, abandonned or alien things, gravitational anomaly etc. Once on the poi, you'll have something to scan that will reveal the " ? "

Yep it was fish for me! It's kinda awkward with the water, cant dive down or look through the water so just have to randomly wave my scanner around until it sees something. And I guess the water was toxic or something because it was hurting my character. I figured out I can just repeatedly jump across water to avoid taking that damage.
ran into the same problem ,planet is 97% complete with 2 species left and I have the water species on the planet, yet the other 2 don't exist...

Just as a side note: You dont have to use the scanner to "scan" fauna. Espacially for fish in "harmful" water. Just shoot it. Also: Bonus XP

sometime getting a higher survey rating will help to complete planets, not sure what your rating is.
