dissecting ships?
How do you take parts off a ship you claimed and use them on another ship? Is there some special process?

I don't think you can, but would love to be wrong.

As far as I can tell there's no way to do that. Or with weapons either.
Nargacuga Sep 6, 2023 @ 11:22pm
You can't. The ship builder automatically buys/sells parts.

I don't think you can. But you can haul the ships you like off to your collection to fly on them and modify them as you like.

isnt there 100% refund for deleting parts? or did i see that wrong, if so one could just delete from one ship and add to another

Not when you are doing it to parts you didn't buy in the edit session. So for example, you can't take a ship you stole and delete enough parts just to keep it space worthy without getting the sale price penalty.

The system isn't designed to allow anything that occurred in one edit session to carry over in any way to a different session.

If you delete parts on a ship, i believe those parts go into the ship builder's catalog which you can use for other ships. And since no builder has all the parts, maybe this way you can unlock all the parts for a location by deleting parts that builder doesn't posses.

That's more like it.

$306,748

$237,469

My kind of ships.

The one that I'm buying is $237,000 but I have Commerce maxed out so it's going to cost less.

I've saved 213,000 so far.

To me, this is a one ship game. I don't see stealing ships as a viable option. You still need to be wealthy to build your own tin cans in this game. That's why I'd recommend that people save money first. Worry about their ships later. Whether they build them or buy them. Any construction in this game requires wealth.

Nice ships, by the way.

I see that you only like the Particle and Suppressors/Electromagnetic weapon systems.

Best combo in the game.

You can't.

But....and i don't really want to post this b/c it will probably get changed, you can salvage ships for a lot more than what you receive if you outright sell them. You can figure it out from there.

It is the same trick I've used in Car Mechanic Simulator when low on cash.

Ship builder, select parts --> delete every single part
