Last time steam and Bethesda worked together to make workshop compatible with one of their games Bethesda attempted to profit off of it by allowing the mods to be "Sold" which caused a massive shift. Shortly after steam pulled the workshop page and I'm sure them and Bethesda wish not to make that attempt again which may also be the reason why native workshop support has been hindered since.

Also I played bunch Kenshi Rimworld etc workshop is lit and needed. I don't see myself running on x platform to get mod left and right for all my game it's just a waste of time

While the workshop still exists for Skyrim it was still a major blow to their plans.

Personally I prefer nexus, its fast and I have a life membership, but from personal experience the workshop is simply easier for people to use.

SOMETIMES easier to use, and it might work even then, all it really does is make my mod authors annoyed when soybrains mass download mods off that god awful platform and then come crying and drooling when it doesn't work.

I prefer workshop. Mods getting automatically updated is awesome. Vortex can be a pain in the butt.

It'll end up being like Fallout 4, where you'll get your mods from the Creation Club. It's separate from Nexus, but most popular Nexus mods will end up on there once it's implemented.
