On ship sizes and scaling

Through some unnecessary calculations and measurements I have deduced that a single dot square on the grid in the ship viewing tab is 4x4m. A 1x1 hab module therefore is 8x8m and all hab modules are roughly 4m in height as well.
Do with that what you will.
Measurements also match inside with outside, i.e. ships are not dis-proportionally bigger on the inside. What you build matches what you can walk around on the inside.

I dont have any reason to disagree with your findings. Also, now we have a good base size to make our own life-size 3d models of our ships. :)
