What is the Biggest ship you have
I am a big fan of Dreadnoughts and Big Battleships, is that Posible? or are we stuck with Boring small ships?

You can, but most likely cheating a bit with ship creator. Cheat Engine right now has a table for that.

As far as legitimate construction goes, you need to max your Ship Construction skill to build the most impressive ships and also Piloting, otherwise you won't be able to fly them.

My current brick is a Class C ship. Its not huge HUGE but it is sizable. I wanted to make it an all arounder type ship. So its about 3 habs wide and long. Looks very battlestar galactica themed. Got the bin 2 high reactor and fuel tank on it. Massive guns. Thing is heavy but I trimed to down after putting the biggest thrusters I could get on it to keep the mobility high.

I do plan on building an all turret battleship looking ship once i get some more cash.

I saw a message on the load screen if a ship exceeds 40m 80m in length it cannot land on planets anymore. Not entirely sure what that is all about....

You need to get the Skill to build type C ships which allows you to build bigger ships, although there is really no point to it.

You can literally build the most overpowered ship by upgrading your starting ship components.

I want my ship to become my base of operations with tons of crew members. Maybe we can get an expansion or update that lets crew members man the guns of bigger ships

Really? I probably missed that one. But it most likely has to do with the designated landing "zone" in space ports.

iirc if your ship is bigger than 40x40m you can't land on a planet. I'm pretty sure I saw that in-game at some point.

Edit: Ah, someone else just posted this above.

Kind of true. At some point you will still hit a area where the upgraded part needs your skill. Like you want that bigger reactor that is a B or C class. Which you will need if you want the better engines ... ect. your Ship type is not the ship itself but based on the parts.

That said if you are not planning on doing a lot of ship fighting the base level stuff is fine for anything main story related.

Possibly true. You can edit your ships using the large landing pad at one of your outposts so maybe you can build and land bigger ships there but not elsewhere?

Could have sworn it said 80m

my current brick is around 1400. Mass effects your mobility and how much landing gear thrust you need to land. You can fix your mobility with better engines

There are missions that require inter-ship combat though. I haven't gotten far into the main story yet but a whole load of side-quests, bounties and activities involve it.

That's landing pads, not planetary lands. You can potentially make a ship 80x80, but they don't suggest it.

Yeah I've had the message twice now. The solution was simple: Bigger ♥♥♥♥-off engines to make it go more faster.
