Are pronouns an important issue or not?

A: "I don't like pronouns."
B: "Why do you care? It doesn't affect you in any way."
A: "Ok, I suppose it doesn't matter, I will ignore it."

Option 2:
A: "I don't like pronouns. I will mod it out for myself in my own playthrough that affects nobody else."
B: "But it affects me! I care about pronouns! It's important to me!"
A: "But why do you care? This is my playthrough, it doesn't affect you in any way shape or form."

Bonus option:
A: "I refuse to buy the game because it forces me to select a pronoun and I disagree with the fundamental notion that a pronoun can be selected, rather it is a descriptive linguistic tool that describes a man (somebody with chromosomes XY, barring genetic mutations with multiple chromosomes) as a he, and a woman (somebody with chromosomes XX, barring genetic mutations with multiple chromosomes) as a she."
B: "Your refusal to buy the game and give money to a corporation enrages me, even though I said before that it doesn't matter and the existence of this option doesn't affect you."

Option 2 is stupid, no one cares about YOUR play through in single player game. Option 3 is even worse. If you are dumb enough to enrage because of pronounce that are in character creation for few moments at the start of the game, it's simply just problem in your head. The pronounce option is there so EVERYBODY can choose what they preffer and play. That's it

Individual pronouns are a thing among the most extreme militant circles, and even there they have proven to be a major source of trouble (watch the drama when someone uses the wrong pronouns). The fact that they are now found in mass media is disturbing. It shows entryism tactics have been unfolding for quite some time.

Or, you don't get to decide at all.
You press character creation and the game automatically decides appearance, sex, and everything else for you with no chance for you to make any decision.

Remember the slippery slope the salt right sometimes love to bring up? We can see this is bigotry a mile away and if nexus allow this. well then more racist mods show up like removing all POC mod by making all NPCs white or space nazis that wish for white ethnostates on planets as the "hero" genocide npcs.

They can beg 4trashcan for these mods or make a website so they can circle jerk these hate mods.

You only see it in character creation so it dont bother me. When NPCs start speaking into he/him etc then that's when I'm done.

People say that the pronouns "don't matter" and that it's something you shouldn't get worked up on. So if it doesn't matter, why is it bigotry if I mod it out for my own game (that affects nobody else, since this is single-player)? Then it does matter and you cannot laugh at right-wingers for caring about it, you don't get to dismiss it as an unimportant issue that only "incel virgins" care about.
By the way - I also find it hilarious you mention a slippery slope and then proceed to show a perfect example of slippery slope yourself - claiming that a mod removing pronoun option will inevitably progress into racist mods that remove everybody except white NPCs. Which - still wouldn't affect you - in a singleplayer game. So again, the argument often used is "black NPCs don't affect you, why do you care?" and yet, the removal of these NPCs is suddenly a problem which affects the speaker. Very disingenous - either it's an important point or it isn't - it cannot be both based on whether you agree with the position or not!

I don't think it's the pronouns them selves people have an issue with. It's the ever growing wave of woke oppression that's taking over our society that people have issues with. Sence the most used, and clear cut example of this is compelled speech related to pronouns that's what they lashout at. When people see that slinking it's way into their games it's just another example of this stupid ♥♥♥♥ being inescapable. And they are getting tired of it always being in their faces everywhere they look.

A few years ago games could let you select your pronouns and several did. No one gave a ♥♥♥♥, it's part of making your own character. But in today's climate the woke crowd has weaponised pronouns to another tool to demand control.

Buffalo is a noun, not a pronoun.
