Unless TES6 ships next year, people are going to expect the engine and graphics to be leaps better.
Especially since next gen consoles will be out when it realistically releases.
The previous engine? You mean gamebryo?
It won't be the same version... they for sure will enhance it with 16 times the detail.
And yes they should get rid of it or create a new entirely.
Aren't they still using the Creation engine for tes6?
It's ridiculous that bethesda keeps running this old buggy garbage.... even more so, they really had time to make new one
i c. It worked well before but other RPG studios have caught up, using more modern engines.
this.
I am certain they think about this all the time. But, you cannot just 'halt' space-time and pay 500.000 USD a month salary(?) for years, until the devs can reach an acceptable level of competence.
Default 'Unreal Engine' is not suitable for all the RPG game systems the players expect from Beth RPGs. 'Unity' & others neither. Their dev tools an pipelines and workflows would have to be re-invented.
Mod support would stop, until the imaginary new engine is robust enough to not crash with every commit.
... yet, it IS painful to see and experience the flaws and lack of the most common features one would expect from 'modern' video games.
On the other hand, it is quite impressive to see what they were able to squeeze out of the exciting, updated engine, with the help of fellow (id software) devs?
but to be fair my complains from the game are not really related to the engine, the new engine seems to be pretty stable and in 25h it didn't crash once.
Just very performance heavy. shame there's no dlss, Hopefuly fsr3 someday
It's criminal a AAA game in 2023 doesn't have dlss.
Only because AMD put some money on the table. As ♥♥♥♥♥♥ as the Creation Engine is, has got nothing to do with that for once.
Probably lol, dunno if they have confirmed yes or no
They did, for ES6 anyway but it wouldn't be stretch to conclude that it will be the same for the next FO too.
