Starfield flickering - super annoying
Hey so i just started the game and oh boy does this game have issues.

First thing i immediately noticed is kinda washed out look i feel like gamma is not right here, and behold no setting in game :D

Second thing i noticed is performance, oh boy IT'S BAAAAD, having 70fps and not even in a city so i expect below 60fps in cities lol, playing at 1440p native/ultra(shadows high) and the kicker is i have RTX4080/13600k, game doesn't even look that great lol, i can run Hogwarts and Witcher with RT ON at such fps for comparison.

Third thing though is very annoying one and another visual issue, there's some kinda flickering on lines around mid-distance i made a short video, it's not perfectly visible but follow the white dot and you will see lines just above it. Anyone know how to deal with this crap?

Ok i have fixed the flickering issue. You can thank AMD for that problem... Just turn on DLSS via mod and flickering dissapears completely, it's present on FSR ON/OFF no idea what's the issue exactly but DLSS fixed it. You can keep the native 100% resolution just make sure DLSS is active. :)
Now i only need some reshade for this and i'm set i think....
Unbelievable they want 70$ and i need to fix so much crap.....

You just have a terrible PC lol. I can play 1440p on ULTRA with a 3080 Ti. Sometimes throwing money at nVidia and Intel doesn’t mean your PC is any good.

Riiight xD It's my PC which is bad ofc ofc. You will get 50fps at native resolution with your card and you think that's good? xD
The game runs like ass and that's a simple undeniable fact, especially on nvidia cards it's bad they clearly optimized it for AMD only, simple fact that there's no DLSS in-game proves it, and 7900xtx beating much stronger 4090 is another proof of that. I can run other much better looking games at much higher fps just fine - Hogwarts/cyberpunk/rdr2 the list goes on, I can easily get +120fps in those games at max settings in most intensive areas, i got half the fps here at the same time getting worse looking game, bravo....

Also be careful of throwing stones from that glass house of yours you claim i throw money at nvidia at the same time having 3080ti which has same msrp as my 4080 so ye, hipocrisy thy name is Gønzö :P

1440p in general seems to be hurting performance, whereas 1080 seems to be a sweet spot for a lot of folks. Probably going to need that first patch to address opimization for those higher res

Yeah that's true. But think about it like this someone who buys +800$ GPU is not going to want to play at 1080p. The first thing they should do is add DLSS in-game it took me like 20min to get it done and they have thousand of workers and can't be bothered to do it ?
And that's not even getting into lack of settings such as: FOV,Gamma, no HDR .
Honestly i paid 30$ for this and i'm annoyed if i paid full price for this i would be getting refund for sure.

The performance is surprisingly low. I mean the game, not your PC.

My PC is very similar to yours and I am getting identical results.

I agree with the gamma not seeming correct and I can see the lines in "mid-distance" suffering from some sort of defect.

It's certainly not impressive, visually, considering how much power it seems to require.

Get DLSS mod if you are on nvidia GPU it fixes that problem, and upscaling looks much better if you want to use it.

I am almost amazed that DLSS is not a standard option. I will take a look at this mod. Thank you!

Oh, I see. I just read up and now understand what you mean by this is AMD's fault.

I have 13700k and 4080 and get similar results as op, no way your system is running better at equal setting.
